Round Rock Honey is hosting a hive painting party at the Cedar Park Farmers Market May 10 from 10-12noon. Families, especially those with young children, are invited to paint retired pine honey “supers” with different drawings – flowers, the sun, bees, trees, wind blowing, water, farm animals, houses, stick people, beekeepers, or anything their little hearts desire. The event will be used to educate the public about bees and honey production, and to earn coupons redeemable for free lip balm from Round Rock Honey. Painted supers will be donated to local schools and community gardens for continuing education, and/or recycled as flower box planters for area gardens.
