May 28, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

12028711_1480382105599287_8225137262376929308_oJoin Konrad from Round Rock Honey to learn about how honey is “made” by bees (bee foraging, pollen, and nectar), the beekeeper’s role in managing bees, bottling honey, and different varieties of honey.

White Deer Apothecary was inspired by Bee Day, so they will demonstrate how to make nutritive pastilles using honey and Mesquite pod powder. Mesquite is a native tree to Central Texas and its pods have been used as food by native peoples around the globe. Mesquite pods have a delicate, sweet flavor and provide protein, fiber and minerals. Adding this local “superfood” to your diet can help balance blood sugar, improve digestion and boost immunity.
White Deer Apothecary is a vendor at TFM at Lakeline centered around sharing the beauty and healing energy of local Texas plants. Herbalist Lauren Peterson crafts herbal tinctures, syrups, salves, balms, teas, infused oils and soy candles using using local, organic and wildcrafted ingredients.
