Join us at Texas Farmers’ Market as we celebrate Earth Month all April long! Our mission of growing a sustainable local food system in Central Texas is directly intertwined with the health of our planet. Shopping at the farmers’ markets is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint, because you are purchasing food that was grown within 150 miles of our market, as opposed to being shipped in from thousands of miles away. Join us every weekend in April for a series of fun events and programming to educate and inspire on the many ways we can all do our part to help protect our planet. Click here for more information.
Sunday, April 9th at Mueller, 10am-2pm: Second Sunday! Rooster Hunt and Non-Profits Higher Ground For Humanity & Mama Sana Vibrant Woman
Bring the whole family and enjoy fun activities for kids every second Saturday & Sunday. For Easter weekend, we’re conserving our precious eggs and hunting for roosters instead. There will be five miniature roosters hidden throughout the market – find them all, and bring a list of their locations to our info booth. The first 10 kids to find them all will get $5 in market bucks to use for a special treat from any market vendor.
In addition, we will have non-profits Higher Ground for Humanity and Mama Sana Vibrant Woman joining us!
Higher Ground for Humanity is a life skills academy for young minds. Their mission is to empower middle – high school students with the skills, expertise, and community to navigate their own emotional and physical well-being. Visit their booth for food literacy, nutrition, and emotional health offerings for the whole family.
Mama Sana Vibrant Woman seeks to improve pregnancy and birth outcomes for communities of color in Central Texas by providing culturally congruent education and support using the midwifery model of care.
