Open Board Appointments to the F2M Texas Board of Directors

June 22, 2018: F2M Texas, a 501(c)4 is seeking applications from qualified individuals to serve on the F2M Texas Board of Directors. The Board is looking for individuals who will advocate for Central Texas Farmers, ranchers and new food startups. The Board is comprised of seven members appointed by the F2M Texas Board for three year terms. There are currently two vacancies on the board.

The mission of F2M Texas is to host and educate Central Texas producers and consumers to grow a sustainable food system. The board is mandated to support an Ag Producer Support Fund. Capital is raised for weekly operation through annual and weekly market fees and annual Fermentation Festival fees as well as through grants and gifts from individuals, foundations or from federal, state, and local funding.

The F2M Texas Board meets quarterly on the third Saturday or Sunday at an agreed upon time at a specified location or via conference call. Upon selection to the Board, applicants will submit to a background check and complete a TFM volunteer form.


Preference will be given to a candidate with a career history demonstrating skills and experience in more than one of the following:

  • Knowledge in addressing current issues facing operation of multiple farmers’ markets
  • Desire to actively participate within the local food community
  • Community involvement in multiple leadership roles
  • Experience in legislative and advocacy processes
  • History of participation in local, state and federal governmental processes
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising
  • Financial and budgetary experience highly desired
  • Texas Law & nonprofit law expertise highly desired
  • Personal or professional experience with farming, ranching and/or new food start-ups
  • Event marketing, communications, advertising and promotion experience
  • Human Resources experience
