Originally from Alvin, TX, Rob Snow, owner and executive chefof Greenhouse Craft Food, developed his culinary skills around the country soon after graduating with valedictorian honors from Le Cordon Bleu in Las Vegas.
Snow cut his teeth as a personal chef before landing in the kitchen at FIX at the Bellagio where he spent four years perfecting his culinary chops. Soon after he and his wife Sonja, had their first daughter they made the collective decision to relocate to Austin to be closer to family. Upon his arrival in 2007, Snow was immediately offered a position at Fleming’s Steakhouse where he developed his knowledge of meat and seafood butchering. Snow soon moved on taking a sous-chef position at Vintage Villas in Lakeway.
In the summer of 2009, Snow landed the executive chef position at former Austin landmark the Mansion at Judge’s Hill, where he quickly found his inspiration in working with local, seasonal ingredients. Snow forged many relationships with local farmers, ranchers and food artisans during his tenure there and knew he wanted to take those relationships with him on to his next endeavor – opening his own restaurant in the fall of 2013 in the chain-laden community of Round Rock, TX.
Today, dedicated locavore chef Snow is proud to offer fresh and delicious comfort food made with sustainably-grown and raised ingredients to the residents of Round Rock and the surrounding communities while also supporting the hard-working people who grow, raise and produce those ingredients.
When he’s not busy running his kitchen, sourcing ingredients, connecting with food producers at farmers’ markets or participating in local food community fundraisers, Snow can be found spending time with his wife Sonja and his young daughters Scarlett and Ginger.
“Rob Snow brought an Austin cooking pedigree and farm-to-table ethos to a suburban strip center. The result is a roster of some of the area’s best sandwiches and rotating selection of nightly specials from the former executive chef at the Mansion at Judge’s Hill.”
