ABOUT NEW LEAF AGRICULTURE
New Leaf Agriculture is a nonprofit social enterprise of the Multicultural Refugee Coalition. They support refugee families through a community garden plot in Austin, and in early 2018 they launched a commercial farm in nearby Elgin, TX. The New Leaf Farm employs organic and sustainable practices while training refugee farmers for paid agricultural work that is dignified, in-demand and familiar from their countries of origin. Established on a conservation easement, their farm grows directly for the farmers’ market, local makers and also sells produce through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model.
