John Ruwwe of Kolodzey Farms has been farming in the Austin area for the past few years. His mom and her siblings were raised on the Kolodzey Farm property, and it’s where his roots started to take hold, and his love for farming started. His Granddad’s garden, which was expansive, was his first reference to seeing what it takes to grow food. It’s a mental picture that has always been in the back of his mind, encouraging him along the way.
He is very grateful to be on family land, where he can implement long term goals and practices. He’s excited to continue to add resiliency to our food system by providing to local communities. He prides himself on growing flavorful varieties, providing produce at its freshest, and using organic and sustainable practices.
