Vendor Spotlight: Tamales

tamale addiction

‘Tis the season for tamales! For many families, making and enjoying tamales during the holiday season is a time-honored tradition. Thanks to our vendors Tamale Addiction and Rancho Martinez, you can make your holiday festivities a bit easier! Learn more about each below.

Tamale Addiction was founded by husband and wife Adrian and Mariana Paredes when an opportunity arose to sell tamales at a local farmers’ market. They worked all week to prepare 80 tamales for their first market and sold out within an hour! The couple rose to the task before them: going organic, local, and creating vegan and vegetarian options for their customers. Now their production has grown to 1,500 tamales a day in their own 3,000 sq. ft. kitchen facility. Stop by Tamale Addiction’s booth at Lakeline on Saturdays and Mueller on Sundays!
Rancho Martinez is a small artisan food company owned and operated by the Martinez family, who take pride in providing exceptional tamales and whole wheat tortillas to the Central Texas region. In the late 1950s, their grandmother, Maria Martinez, perfected their tamale recipe from traditional cooking skills she learned growing up in her native Nuevo Leon Mexico, and began selling them from a small stand. Now based in a state of the art commercial kitchen facility just north of Waco, the Martinez family continues to hand-make all-natural tamales from the finest ingredients, still using Grandmother Maria’s recipe. Find Rancho Martinez at our Lakeline market on Saturdays!
