Did you know that September is National Honey Month? This annual celebration of the beekeeping industry, and the many beneficial properties of honey, is a sweet reason to celebrate the two amazing honey producers that sell at our markets!
Raul Vergara of Austin Honey has been making honey for over 10 years, first as a hobby and now as a business. Austin Honey keeps most of their hives on farms, where farmers benefit from the pollination and the bees can access everything they need to make delicious honey. They sell honey as well as honey products like candles and lip balm, at both Lakeline and Mueller.
Konrad Bouffard of @roundrockhoney offers a range of local wildflower honey. Their bees live on ranchlands that use sustainable methods that forgo chemicals and promote ecologic sustainability. Their honey has a mix of native Texas plant pollens and is never compromised by over-heating, preserving those pollens and trace minerals. This gives them a range of high-quality products, which they have been offering to Texas Farmers’ Market customers since the market’s inception! Find them at both Lakeline and Mueller.
