Jump with Jill Rock & Roll Nutrition Show

September 8, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

JUMP WITH JILL SET TO ROCK WITH TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE

Farm Fresh takes center stage with nationally acclaimed rock & roll nutrition show

In support of Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller’s Farm Fresh initiative, the rock & roll nutrition assembly Jump with Jill is heading to 20 elementary schools in Texas this fall, as well as the State Fair of Texas. The Texas Farm Fresh Jump with Jill Live Tour teaches kids the importance of healthy eating and draws attention to Texas agricultural products — like fruits, vegetables and dairy — that make up a healthy diet. Turns out, eating healthy Texas products is also good for a healthy Texas economy.

“Our Jump with Jill show helps Texas children realize that eating nutritious foods and exercising every day makes them part of a very cool — and healthy — crowd,” Commissioner Miller said. “As a component of our innovative Farm Fresh initiative, this live event provides valuable lessons about good nutrition and Texas agriculture in a way that children will remember for years to come.”

Created by a Registered Dietitian, Jump with Jill has been performed all over the country for a million kids, including Texas youth.

“We are so excited to bring Farm Fresh messages directly to schools by singing and dancing our way across Texas,” Jump with Jill creator Jill Jayne said.

Shows are closed to the public, but media are welcome to cover the live event and interview the cast of Jump with Jill onsight before or after the show. Schools are providing media clearance for students. The cast is also available for early morning or evening in-studio appearances. About Farm Fresh

Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller created the Farm Fresh initiative to build connections between Texas schools and child care centers and local farmers and ranchers. Texas farmers and ranchers produce an abundance of fresh, healthy foods. The Farm Fresh initiative helps schools and child care centers incorporate more fresh local products into their meals, while teaching students about the important role agriculture plays in our everyday lives. The goal is to increase community collaborations, promote healthy lifestyles and improve the Texas economy. Learn more at www.FarmFreshFriday.org.
