Market Update: Sunday, April 15th

The new Round Rock Farmers Market opened Sunday, April 15 at the St. Richard’s Episcopal Church on Palm Valley Blvd. with more than 600 shoppers even though the day began with a rain shower.  People enjoyed the shaded grove around the market and were happy with the first day’s vendors.  Last Sunday brought us perfect weather and even larger crowds with lots of families and church friends.  We are all so thankful for the church members’ warm welcomes and that they shop with us!

The Cedar Park Farmers Market continues to grow as more and more shoppers and their families join us each week.  Last week was a record setting day for many of our vendors.  This week we had our first squash and over the next 2 weeks we will have more farmers and our first tomatoes and black berries of the season.  Be sure to keep in touch through our facebook page on the latest the vendors are bringing.  We raised $135 for the Hill Country Conservancy through their Earth Day Campaign.  And, did I mention the band last week? Were they amazing or what?  I felt like we were at a European street market.  Dave books our music and he is the BEST!

I am also on a spring rampage of farmer and rancher inspections.  Last week we inspected Johnson’s Backyard Garden and Countryside Farm.  Tomorrow, I head to Blanco and Fredericksburg to visit McCall Creek Farm, Itz Gardens, Engel Farms.  I love my Job!

Thanks to all, our farmers and ranchers are so happy to share their bounties with you!  See you Saturday or Sunday!
