Stop by the market on Sunday for a microscope pop-up to see the microbes that make our soils function. Ben Samuelson, Compost and Soil Microscope Technician & Applied Soil Ecologist, will help you see bacteria, fungi, protozoa and nematodes and learn their roles in the soil ecosystem. See the stark contrast between soils and composts that are full of life and soils and composts without biological activity.
WHAT TO BRING: Two tablespoons of your garden soil in a plastic bag, the fresher the better and we’ll see who’s living with your plants’ roots!
