October 20, 2013 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

Join us at the market between 11:30 and 1:30pm to meet organic gardening expert John Dromgoole. He’ll be talking to market goers, answering gardening questions and recording radio spots for KLBJ.

john dromgooleAbout John

John Dromgoole hosts the longest, continuously running, organic gardening talk show in the United States. For the last twenty-five years on KLBJ AM 590, he has shared his passion and extensive knowledge of organic gardening. Originally broadcast on Saturday mornings, he eventually picked up Sunday mornings, too. His show, GARDENING NATURALLY, is unique in that it takes a non-chemical approach to gardening. John’s main focus is protecting the environment while enriching the soil and growing healthier plants. This has proven to be a popular subject for both listeners and advertisers, as the program sells out all advertising space every spring.

On Saturdays from 9a.m. to 11a.m., listeners call in with their questions about problems with trees, shrubs, lawns, flowers and vegetable gardens. The show on Sunday, from 8a.m. to 10a.m., has featured such esteemed guests as the late Robert Rodale, one of the definitive influences of organic gardening; Wallace Black Elk, a Native-American steeped in ancient traditions; and John Jeavons, world-famous bio-intensive farming expert. The astronaut, Eugene Cernan, shared his experience of the overwhelming effect of standing on the moon and looking back at earth, while realizing how connected we are, and how we must take care of this planet. All guests are highly respectful of this planet and share in John’s vision of gardening naturally.
